What to Expect 

 

All private lessons will require strategic thinking while having fun. My goal in every session is to be interactive and encourage creative play.

 

For Beginners and Novice Students

 

  1. Assessment quiz for their knowledge and experience and some indication on how they think.
  2. The Chess boards description and introduction to the pieces and how they are set up.
  3. King, Queen, Rooks, Bishops, Knights and Pawns and their point values and movements.
  4. Correlation of the pieces with each other.
  5. Basic checkmate schemes (endgame).
  6. More advanced endgame solutions (problem-solving).
  7. Opening preferably Ruy Lopez, “The Spanish Opening”.

 

For Advanced Students

 

  1. Will have the same format as the beginners’ course with more focus on chess strategies.
  2. Introduction to chess mathematics, basic algebra and alpha-numeric positioning.
  3. Advance problem-solving from abstract chess positions.
  4. Advance opening schemes such as the fools and scholar mate.
